Had a 5 day Ganpati at our place , this time being the 29th consecutive year we are doing this. A time when the entire extended family members come together and there's a continuous smile on all the faces. . .feels great to be a part of a joint family at such times.
The 5 days passed as 5 hours , and we realized it was the last day only when we took the idol for Visarjan. Needless to say, the house felt empty as though a body without a heart.
One thing I felt bad about was that we there were Ganesha idols which were coming under our feet when we went into the water for Visarjan; and this happened not much than 20 feets away from the shore. People had irresponsibly put the Ganesha idols just near to the shore and also did not care to see whether they were rooted properly. The immediate thought that came to my mind " Yaar, kuch kar rahe ho toh dhang se karo, ya karo hi mat ! "
